Overview
Performing arts in China is one of the oldest art forms in China. The three main factors of Performing arts are Theatre, Dance, and Music. Dance in China dates back 5,000 years ago with the dancers in headdresses and sashes while stepping in unison. Music in china played a huge role in early Chinese ritual and stagecraft and is still widely appreciated there. Theater in China originated from early religious dances performed at festivals for many different reasons and since then has been changed in many different ways.
Chinese Modern Art has been sitting on the back burner for at least 30 years. With strict censorship laws and harsh punishments, not many artists wanted to deviate from the 'acceptable' oriental Ink and Brush paintings that the Government adored. Flash forward a decade and Modern Art is basking in the spotlight. Prices for these masterpieces are skyrocketing, and art collectors from around the globe are competing for these beautiful pieces of bright Chinese individualism and rebellion. While the paintings and photographs may not make a sound, their creators have certainly made quite a ruckus in China's disciplined community.

From the Stone Age to the Ming Dynasty (1500 AD) traditional Chinese art’s main theme was nature. Animals, trees, flowers, rocks, and water were each artistically copied in beautiful simplistic form. The goal of China’s traditional art was to express the relationship between people and nature. Though China after a certain time as it was opened more to the outside world was influenced by other cultures and their art. As they continued to be introduced to new resources to expand their art, they still stuck to their traditional ways focusing in nature.
